Did you know that you have the opportunity to receive nutrition education from the comfort of your home?
Many areas of life continue to change each day due to the coronavirus pandemic, but one thing you don’t have to miss out on is nutrition education that is both reliable and engaging. The UGA SNAP-Ed program offers free online learning to meet you where you are when you need it. Just go to FoodTalk.org and click the “Sign Up” feature to find out if you are eligible.
Why Food eTalk?
Most restaurants are closed right now due to the pandemic, leaving it up to you to make smart, healthy decisions for yourself and your household. Food eTalk and Food eTalk: Better U are a series of eLearning lessons. These lessons teach you about incorporating fruits and vegetables into your diet, portion size, and planning meals on a budget.
Never heard of eLearning? No problem!
Don’t let the term “eLearning” scare you away. This is just a term for any type of online learning. If you have been reading our blogs or watching our recipe or fitness videos, you have been an “eLearner” all along!
If you are interested in beginning Food eTalk and Food eTalk: Better U, both are user friendly. Make sure the volume is turned up on your phone, tablet, or computer and a moderator will instruct you on where to click and what to do to complete each lesson. For further guidance on how to complete the lessons, click here.
Congratulations! You Finished!
When you finish all ten eLearning lessons, you will receive a completion certificate. The certificate has directions for contacting your local UGA County Extension office to receive a complimentary bag of kitchen and exercise items. If you have questions, please contact the UGA SNAP-Ed office at 706-542-6117 or email snap-ed@uga.edu for more information.
